Change at the top of the company - OB Benz welcomes the supervisory board decision
Thomas Schmidt became CEO of Entega AG on January 1, 2026. The company's supervisory board elected him in its meeting on March 19, 2025 for a five -year term until 2030. Schmidt has been a board of directors for trade and sales since 2022 and will continue this office until the move at the top of the company.
The current CEO Dr. Marie-Luise Wolff will remain in office until the end of 2025. CFO Albrecht Förster and Andreas Niedermaier as a board member for personnel and infrastructure will continue to exercise their positions.
Darmstadt's mayor Hanno Benz, also chairman of the Entega supervisory board, emphasized: "With Thomas Schmidt, an experienced energy specialist takes over the management that the company has known for years and has shaped it decisively. The change is run smoothly and the successful work is continued seamlessly."
Also Dr. Wolff welcomed the decision: "Thomas Schmidt has extensive experience and will surely lead the company." Schmidt himself described his choice as a "great honor and commitment" and announced that he continuously develop the work together with the board team.
Professional background of Thomas Schmidt
Born in Bielefeld, he started his career in 1996 as the founder of a consulting company before moving to Mainova AG in 2004. There he worked as a division manager and managing director. He has been part of the Entega group since 2014, where he held various management positions - including as managing director of Entega Plus GmbH and Entega Medianet GmbH. Schmidt lives with his family in the Rhine-Main area.
