2,000 euros will support clubs and initiatives in the district
For many years, ENTEGA has donated to charitable organizations and associations in the region at the beginning of each year. The green energy and telecommunications provider continues this tradition in 2026, providing a total of €12,000 for the districts of Darmstadt-Dieburg, Offenbach, Groß-Gerau, Bergstraße and Odenwald, as well as for the city of Darmstadt.
Of this amount, €2,000 will go to the Groß-Gerau district. The remaining €1,000 will support the Walldorf district branch of the German Red Cross, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2025. The funds will be used, among other things, for investments in the vehicle fleet to ensure continued operational readiness. The organization cites increased costs in almost all areas.
The Kleeblatt association in Kelsterbach will receive an additional 500 euros. With the support of the city of Kelsterbach, local churches, other religious communities, and social service providers, the volunteers offer a wide range of assistance. This includes accompanying people on shopping trips or to doctor's appointments, helping them fill out forms, and providing support and guidance on various life issues. The aim is to improve the quality of life for the community.
Sturmfrei Rüsselsheim e. V. will also receive €500 in funding. This association is a group of artists, cultural professionals, and culture enthusiasts dedicated to promoting the young arts and culture scene in Rüsselsheim. Their activities include organizing events and art projects such as the Bel R! urban art festival, featuring theater, performance art, acrobatics, and workshops on the banks of the Main River, as well as parties at the Rollwerk skate park. The aim is to sustainably strengthen local creative projects and provide a platform for newcomers.
ENTEGA CEO Thomas Schmidt visited the Groß-Gerau district office on Thursday, January 22nd, to learn more about the projects being supported. He emphasized the importance of volunteer work in social and cultural associations and underscored the company's commitment to supporting such initiatives in the region.
District Administrator Thomas Will also expressed his gratitude on behalf of the recipients of the donations and emphasized that the contributions help associations and initiatives to further advance projects of great social importance.
