Ukrainian ambassador Oleksii Makeiev received in the new town hall
High visit to the city of science: Mayor Hanno Benz received the ambassador of Ukraine in Germany, Oleksii Makev, in the new town hall on Luisenplatz on Tuesday, February 21. Ambassador Makeiev entered the city's Golden Book and thanked Ukraine for the support and solidarity.
In return, Mayor Hanno Benz assured the ambassador for the further support of Darmstadt. “The science city of Darmstadt was very happy about the visit of Mr. Makeieev in Darmstadt. This is also a proof of how narrow and unshakable German-Ukrainian relationships, also and especially at the local level, are still after three years of brutal Russian war of aggression. ”
Darmstadt has been maintaining a partnership with the Ukrainian city of Uzhhorod since 1992, to which extensive aid deliveries from Darmstadt were regularly sent, especially at the beginning of the war. Since the beginning of the war, numerous Ukrainian refugees in Darmstadt have also found protection against war and destruction and some also a new home.
