Expert view of the gender pay gap and solutions
The women's and equal opportunities officer of Büchnerstadt Riedstadt, Jennifer Muth, draws attention to an online event as part of the Equal Pay Day. The State Working Group on Hessian Women's and Equal Opportunities Office (LAG) invites you to a digital lecture with sociologist Prof. Jutta Allmendinger on March 5 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Under the title “Mind the Gap! Perspectives of the relief inequality ”will illuminate the causes and consequences of the gender -specific wage gap and show possible solutions.
Gender Pay GAP continues to be 18 percent
The Equal Pay Day marks the day until women work unpaid unpaid, while men will be paid for their work as early as January 1. This year the day falls again on March 7 , since the wage gap between men and women in Germany is still 18 percent .
The event will be moderated by Mareen Hechler , head of the office for equal opportunities of the Darmstadt-Dieburg district, and Dr. Inga Halwachs , municipal women's and equal opportunities officer of the city of Offenbach.
“The Equal Pay Day is an important day of action to draw attention to the ongoing rewarding. Despite progress there is still a clear gap that must not be ignored, ”explains Jennifer Muth , who is also a member of the six-member LAG spokesman for the spokesman for Hesse.
