SKG Erfelden invites you to exercise, health and socializing on 3 September
Exercise, health, and community will be the focus on Tuesday, September 3, 2025, starting at 3 p.m. in the Rheingoldhalle of the SKG Erfelden (Rheinallee 42). Together with the Riedstadt and Stockstadt Senior Citizens' Advice Center, the SKG invites seniors aged 60 and older to an active afternoon with coffee and cake.
The central component of the program is the Everyday Fitness Test (AFT) – a short, everyday fitness check with six simple exercises, supervised by experienced instructors. The tests provide information about one's own physical performance compared to others in the same age group and whether one's fitness is sufficient for independent living in old age.
The AFT is part of the state initiative "SPORTLAND HESSEN bewegt" (Sportland Hesse Moves) and is offered by the Groß-Gerau Sports District in cooperation with the district's sports promotion agency. As part of the new sports development plan, this program is intended to specifically promote exercise and health programs for older people.
The event begins with a welcome address by Dr. Eckardt Stein, chairman of the Groß-Gerau Sports Association, followed by a keynote speech on the topic of "Exercise and Independence in Older Age." The test procedure will then be presented and the exercises will be performed. Following this, there will be an opportunity for personal consultation based on the results.
Immediately following this, the Everyday Fitness Practice Program (AFT-PP) , a series of courses lasting several weeks to specifically improve fitness, mobility and endurance.
Participation is free of charge. Registration is required at the Riedstadt/Stockstadt Senior Citizens' Advice Center by calling +49 6158 822573-10 or by emailing info@beratungsstelle-riedstadt.de . Comfortable everyday clothing is sufficient for the test; the prerequisite is that there are no serious health restrictions.
