The working group "Senior-friendly district Bergstraße" recommends nature experiences in the Odenwald
Grasellenbach. the Bergstraße District Senior-Friendly the Kneipp and air spa resort of Grasellenbach in the Odenwald region as a worthwhile destination for senior citizens and their families. The monthly featured destination will be presented on the Bergstraße District Senior Citizens' Advisory Board website .
Nature, recreation and exercise in the UNESCO Geopark
Grasellenbach lies at an altitude of around 500 meters and offers a pleasantly cool climate even on hot summer days – ideal for a trip into nature. The parking lot at the Nibelungenhalle , and the local tourist office provides information. Information boards, signposts, and suggested routes make planning easier.
A popular circular hiking trail leads into the Gassbach Valley – without any significant inclines and therefore well-suited for all age groups. Alternatively, the route on the other side of the Gassbach Valley can be chosen. There, sculptures , ponds , a forest nature trail , and two Kneipp facilities with foot and arm baths invite visitors to linger and enjoy the experience. The water used comes directly from springs in the region.
For those who prefer a more active experience, there is a miniature golf course , fitness equipment , and several playgrounds for younger companions. Cafés and restaurants along the way offer opportunities for refreshments. Restrooms are available at the Nibelungenhalle.
