Artists Ariel Auslender and Miguel Epes are exhibiting works in Darmstadt
On Friday, May 23, 2025, the new "Gallery at the City Wall" in Darmstadt's city center will open its doors for the first time. The opening exhibition, "Argentinos afuera," will feature works from recent years by the two artists Ariel Auslender and Miguel Epes. The opening reception begins at 6 p.m. with a welcome address by Gregor Auslender, followed by a reception.
Both artists live and work in Darmstadt, but are originally from Argentina. Ariel Auslender is a sculptor, painter, and professor at the Technical University of Darmstadt. His works, including smaller sculptures, offer critical reflections on social issues. Miguel Epes works freelance as an illustrator and painter. His work is characterized by vibrant colors and dynamic compositions that reflect memories of his homeland.
“I am fascinated by how color alone can create light, form, and character. In the paintings by Ariel and Miguel, this is done in very different ways, yet so expressively that one wants to linger in front of them for a long time,” says gallery owner Katja Epes , who runs the new gallery.
