Stadtmuseum Groß-Gerau shows moving perspectives on life in the district town
On Friday, June 13, 2025 at 3 p.m., "GG-My Habitat" ceremoniously opened in the Groß-Gerau City Museum (Am Marktplatz 3) Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau welcomes the guests personally and opens the show together with the family center of the district town, which initiated the project.
Voices, pictures and impulses from all generations
The exhibition shows life in Groß-Gerau from many perspectives: children, adolescents, adults and senior citizens brought their ideas, impressions and wishes-in terms of content and artistic. In five subject areas, oriented towards the five social areas of Groß-Geraus , questions such as:
"What is nice-and what could be better in Groß-Gerau?"
Angela Matthies, coordinator of the family center, emphasizes the cross -generational approach:
"The exhibition shows how many differences our habitat offers. This mixed view encourages to question your own perception - and at the same time create a valuable impulse for the dialogue."
Mayor Rüddenklau also praises the project:
"This exhibition shows what is possible when people and institutions work together, especially in times of short means. It actively promotes understanding between the generations."
Opening times and visit
The exhibition is open from June 13 to July 11, 2025 :
Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. , further dates are possible by appointment (contact: angela.matthies@goss-gerau.de ).
Framework program in the city museum
Accompanying the exhibition, two events are planned:
- Wednesday, June 18, 2 p.m .: Public rehearsal of the " Fidelen Ukulelen " from the Raiss house - as a "living object" with songs.
- Wednesday, July 2, 6:30 p.m .: Panel discussion under the title "Take a say. Participate. Theses shaping - future in our district town" with Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau and other guests.
