Stair house gallery of the town hall shows colorful women's portraits until the end of March
Colorful women's heads with big eyes and full lips are currently bringing color and happiness to the staircase gallery of the Riedstadt town hall. Playful elements increase the good mood radiation of the paintings. Then a lady sips her cocktail through a real straw, glued stars and buttons become earrings, necklaces and hairstyles, or decorate hats and dresses as well as fabric flowers or feathers.
At the opening of the exhibition, Mayor Marcus Kretschmann expressed his joy that the Biebesheim artist Nadine Molter brought color to the Riedstadt town hall with her works and explained: “I think it's great that you found the way into painting. It is a real asset to the town hall. " Because it was always important to the trained educator to do creatively. But when she was 19 years old, Nadine Molter Stargardt's disease was diagnosed, a rare eye disease in which the central field of vision fails and can only be focused on the edge. In the left eye, she has only three percent eyes, on the right of five percent, says Molter.
But this does not want to be prevented from painting, on the contrary, she wants to be artistically active, she emphasizes. “Because I can no longer focus properly, I can't paint them in small ways. So I paint big and with aids such as magnifying glass and magnifying glasses, ”she says. And because she knows that at some point she can no longer recognize colors, it indulges in happy colors as long as possible.
Asked whether she has a painting on which she is particularly attached, Molter does not have to think long. "This is the picture 'Nina and Nadine' that hangs on the second floor. "I portrayed my girlfriend Nina Rothermel on that. She is my best friend and helps me a lot in the background so that I can practice my art, ”she says with a bright smile.
The exhibition "There are all colors" by Nadine Molter in the staircase gallery can be visited until the end of March with free admission during the opening hours of the Riedstadt town hall.
