Opening on December 1, 2025 in the media ship – focus on those affected and prevention
The city of Weiterstadt has announced that the exhibition "Violence Against Women" will open on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 5 p.m. in the Weiterstadt Media Ship . The exhibition is presented by the Office for Diversity and Participation in cooperation with the Office for Equal Opportunities of the Darmstadt-Dieburg district .
Opening event with tour and exchange
Speakers at the opening include Christel Sprößler, Head of Social and Youth Affairs , and Mayor Möller . Afterwards, a guided tour will take place, during which Ursula Pavez Sandoval from the association "Women Helping Women" will be available to answer questions.
The event is being held to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and aims to raise awareness of the different forms of violence that affect women and girls.
Traveling exhibition of the State Agency for Political Education
The exhibition, organized by the Hessian State Center for Political Education and supported by the county's Office for Equal Opportunities, uses text and image panels the diverse forms violence can take – physical, psychological, digital, or structural. It also refers to the Istanbul Convention , the international agreement on preventing and combating violence against women.
