Demanding for pedestrians and cyclists set up during the construction phase
Work on the Jägertorstrasse in Darmstadt is progressing as planned. The paving work in the area between Bartningstraße and Waltherstrasse is well advanced, and the gravel application layer for asphalting is currently being installed there.
The demolition of the two bridge structures is planned for the beginning of August. With the start of this work, the connection of the Jägertorstraße for through traffic is completely interrupted. In order to continue to ensure accessibility, a detour for pedestrians and cyclists will be set up. This leads via Gruber, Bartning and Waltherstrasse or in the opposite direction.
After the bridge dismantling and the production of the bridge bearings, the laying of the passage tubes is planned for mid -August.
Traffic director Paul Georg Wandrey emphasizes: "The rapid progress in the expansion of the Jägtertorstrasse shows how well the cooperation of everyone involved works. It is particularly important to us to keep the restrictions on residents and foot and bike traffic as low as possible."
The construction work is carried out by Wilhelm Schütz GmbH & Co. KG from Weilburg. The aim is to complete the work as efficiently as possible. Information on the current state of construction work is available at www.darmstadt.de/jaegertorstrasse .
