A detour for pedestrians and cyclists has been set up during the construction phase
Work on Jägertorstraße in Darmstadt is progressing according to plan. The paving work in the area between Bartningstraße and Waltherstraße is well advanced; currently, the gravel base course for the asphalt is being installed.
The demolition of the two bridge structures is scheduled for the beginning of August. With the start of this work, Jägertorstraße will be completely closed to through traffic. To ensure continued access, a detour for pedestrians and cyclists will be set up. This detour leads via Gruberstraße, Bartningstraße, and Waltherstraße, and vice versa.
After the bridge dismantling and the construction of the bridge bearings, the laying of the culvert pipes is planned for mid-August.
Head of Transport Paul Georg Wandrey emphasizes: “The rapid progress in the expansion of Jägertorstraße shows how well the cooperation of all parties involved is working. It is particularly important to us to keep the restrictions for residents as well as pedestrian and bicycle traffic to a minimum.”
The construction project is being carried out by Wilhelm Schütz GmbH & Co. KG from Weilburg. The aim is to complete the work as efficiently as possible. Information on the current status of the construction work can be found at www.darmstadt.de/jaegertorstrasse .
