Exhibition project by the Protestant Deanery of Darmstadt and Pro Peace starts on January 19th
With the project "Faces of Peace," the Protestant Deanery of Darmstadt and the organization Pro Peace you to an exhibition that presents people worldwide who are committed to peace and human rights in very different ways. The focus is on twelve portraits of individuals whose commitment ranges from local peace work to international conflict zones.
Opening at the Open House Darmstadt
The exhibition opens on Monday, January 19th, at 7 pm at the Offenes Haus Darmstadt . Christine Lieser, the responsible representative from Pro Peace, will give an introduction. Following this, Batoul Almahmoud and Judy Al Chalabi , two women from Syria who are also part of the exhibition, will speak about their personal stories, their escape from Syria, and their current peace work in Germany.
The exhibition can be viewed in the foyer of the Open House April 10th 9 am to 4 pm .
Accompanying program with readings, writing courses and film series
The exhibition project will be complemented by further events. A literary writing workshop is planned for February 7th , a reading for February 26th , and a film series at the rex arthouse cinema , running from January 26th to February 23rd . The films will be shown as part of the AlleWeltKino (All World Cinema) program.
