AI as an opportunity for public administration

According to the FDP, possible areas of application include, among others:

- Data analysis for faster decisions
- Relieving administrative staff of repetitive tasks
- Building a professional data management system
According to Blum, AI could identify missing documents before an appointment or make data-driven decisions more quickly. This would allow citizen requests to be processed more efficiently and administrative processes to be optimized.
Darmstadt aims to become an AI pioneer
The FDP criticizes the city administration for not yet pursuing a comprehensive strategy for the use of AI. "With Digitalstadt Darmstadt and Hessian AI, we have ideal partners – but a clear plan is lacking," Blum emphasizes. Darmstadt could serve as a nationwide role model for AI in public administration if the city takes action now.
With its motion, the FDP aims to ensure that the city council calls on the city administration to develop a holistic AI strategy and create experimental spaces for the use of AI.
