Criticism of delays at the West waiting hall and Modau bridge
The Eberstadt FDP local chapter is sharply criticizing the lack of barrier-free expansion of the Wartehalle-West and Modaubrücke stops. According to the FDP, implementation cannot be delayed any further, as parents with strollers and people with limited mobility, in particular, depend on rapid conversion.
"With significant voluntary citizen engagement, detailed plans for a future-oriented town center design, including the expansion of bus stops, were drawn up – none of this has yet been taken up by the city government," explains Eberstadt FDP chairman Christoph Rohloff. This further erodes citizens' trust in the city government's effectiveness.
Criticism of the city's delaying policy
According to the FDP Eberstadt, the same questions have been repeated in the district forums for years. However, the answers have remained unsatisfactory. Citing a statement from the HEAG Mobilo press office, the local association complains that the barrier-free conversion of the Wartehalle-West stop will only be considered after experience with the Ludwigshöhstraße stop has been gained. The expansion of the Modaubrücke stop has been rejected entirely.
The Liberals see this as a policy of delay that has been ongoing since 2017. Numerous passengers are affected: from people with walking disabilities to wheelchair users to parents with strollers.
