Baptized, confirmands give the light
In a festive service, three young people were baptized on Saturday evening, January 11, 2025. The families had left their children the decision about baptism.
Now they had registered for confirmation classes and decided to be baptized. In the service, they then passed the light from their baptism candles to the other confirmands and confirmands. Previously, sponsors and family members had given the three personal wishes baptized in front of the community. The altar and baptismal basin were decorated with red towels and atmospheric. Red in the church is the color for the Holy Spirit and the community of believers. Pastor Auksutat spoke red in her sermon on the color, which was warning color, but expression of aggression, but above all the color of love. God's love overcome hate and terror and even death. Love is therefore the heartbeat of this world that has become so ugly. And in this love the baptized can live and love.
The configuration had presented its own considerations for baptism in the baptismal service and transferred and prayed a psalm into its living environment. The service was led by Pastor Auksutat. Organist Michael Tagliente on the piano and the organ provided the musical framework. With modern songs, the praise of God and community was expressed in a youthful way.
