In preparation for the planned fiber optic expansion in Griesheim-Southwest, Ranger Marketing & Vertriebs GmbH, commissioned by Deutsche Telekom, are currently visiting residents in the southwestern part of the city. They are informing residents directly at their homes about the upcoming fiber optic network expansion and advising them on the associated options.
The direct marketers employed by Telekom operate according to strict guidelines and quality standards. They are identifiable by their clothing bearing the Telekom logo . They can also identify themselves with a photo ID and an authorization letter from Deutsche Telekom . The ID card contains a QR code that can be scanned on the Telekom website to access a photo of the respective employee. This allows verification of their authorization. Alternatively, identification is possible by calling the toll-free number 0800 3309765. Employees will only enter homes if explicitly requested to do so.

Fiber optic expansion in Griesheim-Southwest is expected to begin in March 2026. The second expansion area encompasses approximately 3,800 households and about 1,800 addresses . The area lies south of Wilhelm-Leuschner-Straße and west of Lindenstraße . According to current plans, construction is expected to last until mid- to late 2027 .
