From aliens, vampires and musicals – cult films in the Audimax cinema
The student film club at TU Darmstadt has published its film program for the summer semester of 2025. Besides classics and arthouse films, this semester will focus horror icons and musicals
Film highlights: Alien film night and vampire series
This semester, the film club is taking its visitors on a cinematic journey into the world of horror. The Alien film night, with the motto "No one can hear you scream in the lecture hall," brings the eerie Xenomorph creature from the "Alien" series to the big screen. Simultaneously, the series "Vampires in All Shapes and Colors" to the vampire film genre, which originated "Nosferatu."
But the program isn't dominated solely by dark characters. Musicals provide a contrast: The "Let us entertain you" includes the Broadway film adaptation "Wicked" and the musical biopic "A Better Man" in the Audimax's modern 7.1 surround sound system.
The focus is on classic and arthouse cinema
In addition to the themed series, the film club presents a selection of classic films . This gives film fans the opportunity to experience masterpieces such as "12 Angry Men" or the Cold War satire "One, Two, Three" on the big screen using high-quality projection technology.
“We have once again put together a well-rounded program – from Hollywood to arthouse and documentaries to German cinema, everything is included,” said Hendrik Würtz from the film circle.

The film club regularly shows its films three days a week:

The Student Film Club is a university group that has existed at TU Darmstadt since 1954. With modern projection capabilities ranging from 16mm and 35mm to 4K digital projection and a 7.1 surround sound system, it offers a unique cinematic experience.
