Nordic delicacies, handicrafts and Finnish Christmas traditions on November 29th in Darmstadt
The Finnish School Association Frankfurt am Main e.V. to its traditional Finnish Christmas bazaar on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at the Art Nouveau villa of the Baltic Germans, the Villa "Pillenburg" in the Paulusviertel district (Herdweg 79, Darmstadt). From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors can experience Nordic handicrafts, culinary specialties, and a festive atmosphere.
salmon is prepared over an open flame in the courtyard , while inside, handcrafted items, knitwear, and gifts invite browsing. The lovingly decorated cafeteria offers a selection of Finnish specialties – from glögi (mulled wine) to traditional pastries. Those who wish can meet friends here for breakfast or coffee and enjoy the pre-Christmas magic.
Entertainment is also provided: A raffle , a book corner , and a visit from Santa Claus starting at 3 p.m. will offer festive diversions. Finnish food and specialties will also be available for purchase.
The association behind the bazaar
The Finnish School Association Frankfurt am Main e.V. was founded in 1976 as a parents' initiative and has since offered Finnish language instruction to around 140 children and young people of Finnish descent in the Rhine-Main region. The non-profit organization supports families in multilingual education and contributes to keeping the Finnish language and culture alive.
The association receives financial support from the Finnish Ministry of Education and the National Agency for Education . The proceeds from the Christmas bazaar go directly towards the association's work and its teaching activities.
