City reacts to the forest fire warning level 4-Candle of candle and caution in dealing with cigarettes
Due to the current drought and the forest fire war of 4 of the German Weather Service, the green area office of the science city of Darmstadt calls for caution: until further notice, the lighting of candles should be dispensed with in all city cemeteries.
Measures to protect against fires
The appeal is aimed at all cemetery visitors. Appropriate information is also visible directly on the cemeteries through notices. The measure serves the preventive fire protection, since even small sparks can have a dangerous effect.
In addition, the green space office reminds that the throwing away of cigarettes or other flammable objects is generally not permitted - but is a particularly great danger in dry times.
