Darmstadt youth centers are organizing an inclusive tournament on June 28th / TU Darmstadt is providing the playing field
On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the university stadium will once again become a meeting place for football-loving children and teenagers: The "Football for All" tournament is entering its third year. It is organized by the Mobile Youth Work program, the ROPE sports clubs, and the city's youth centers on Messeler Straße, Akazienweg, and Go-In. The event is under the patronage of Mayor Barbara Akdeniz.
“The football tournament is a great opportunity for children and young people to actively experience the sport and strengthen the sense of community,” Akdeniz emphasizes.
The tournament is aimed at young people aged 10 to 21 who are cared for in Darmstadt youth centers or social institutions. Registration is handled directly through the respective institutions and is designed to ensure easy access.
Sport, community and inclusion in focus
“Our tournament isn’t about winning, but about a strong sense of community,” says Tim Junker from the Akazienweg youth center. The motto “Football for all” underscores the inclusive nature of the event.
Erik Thomann from the Mobile Youth Work Werkhof e. V. also emphasizes the importance of the tournament: "Here, prejudices are broken down and commonalities are created – above all, the joy of football."
The tournament will be played in two age groups: 10 to 15 years and 15 to 21 years. The sporting events begin at 10:00 AM, with the official opening ceremony at 11:30 AM. TU Darmstadt is supporting the event as a cooperation partner and is providing the football pitch in the university stadium.
The team at the university stadium will provide catering – it should be a thoroughly successful summer experience off the pitch as well.
