Former double strike from Lidberg takes Lilien to the winning road
After four defeats, SV Darmstadt 98 impressively repelled and secured an important home win with a strong performance. With 2: 0 (2-0), the lilies prevailed against FC Schalke 04 and impressively ended their clever.
The home game against Schalke started with a dream start: after three minutes, Isac Lidberg prevailed over the outer lane and closed with a rich shot into the long corner for early lead. Just two minutes later, the Swede had the Böllenfall gate cheer again: Luca Marseiler played a precise pass, which Lidberg turned ice cold to 2-0. With this furious beginning, the SV 98 laid the foundation for success.
As a result, the home side remained the more active team and hardly allowed anything defensively. A further conclusion of Andreas Müller (7th) missed the goal, but the lilies confidently controlled the game. In the second half, Darmstadt defended the lead with great commitment and gave little chance for the guests.
Schalke had to run out in the last few minutes after Grüger was put off the pitch in the 76th minute with yellow-red. Six minutes before the end, Hornby tried again with a Schlenzer, but this conclusion was also unsuccessful (84th). But that did not change the well -deserved victory of the lilies, who brought their leadership confidently over time and were able to score three important points.
With this sense of achievement, SV Darmstadt 98 gets some air in the table cellar and sets an important sign in the fight for relegation. A brave appearance, a dream start and a concentrated defensive performance ensured an all -round successful football evening at the Böllenfall goal.
