Darmstadt launches online participation – public forums to follow in autumn
The science city of Darmstadt is continuing its public participation process for the integrated transport development plan "Future Plan Mobility Peace". Following a successful kick-off event, where around 100 citizens contributed their ideas and wishes on the topic of sustainable mobility, the first online participation phase is now starting.
Until May 30, 2025, interested parties can submit suggestions, present successful examples, or mark problem areas in Darmstadt's transport network on an interactive map at zukunftmobil-darmstadt-beteiligung.de . The input will be directly incorporated into the inventory for the new transport development plan.
Mobility Officer Paul Georg Wandrey emphasizes:
“The Future Plan for Mobility Peace thrives on dialogue with citizens. The kick-off event demonstrated the high level of interest and commitment in Darmstadt to sustainable, fair, and functional mobility. Now, the focus is on jointly developing goals and guidelines for Darmstadt and the region.”
In autumn 2025, three further public participation forums will follow, in which the guiding principles and concrete objectives for future mobility will be discussed. The kick-off event already focused on topics such as cycling and walking, public transport, sharing services, and car and commercial traffic.
