New municipal platform facilitates access to advice, care and everyday assistance
The town of Riedstadt, associated with Büchner, has created a central information platform specifically aimed at older people and their relatives. At the new address www.aelter-werden-in-riedstadt.de, users can now find a concise overview of services in the areas of advice, care, support, and assistance with daily living.
The idea for the new website originated within the framework of the Care Roundtable, which was initiated by the SPD and unanimously adopted by the city council in February 2023. Mayor Marcus Kretschmann emphasized at the presentation: "We have many services, but until now a central overview was lacking."
Variety of support services in Riedstadt
Riedstadt has been committed to supporting its senior citizens for decades. The Riedstadt Social Community Foundation was established 35 years ago, offering independent advice and support services. Further initiatives, such as the Riedstadt Helpers Network and the "Wegwarte" outpatient hospice service, complement the city's support system.
The new homepage clearly structures these diverse offerings into three main areas:
- Advice and support
- Care and support
- Independent living in old age
The latter is specifically designed for preventive everyday assistance: Here you will find information on home adaptation, meals on wheels, emergency call services, digital advice as well as contacts to the VdK local associations and the equal opportunities officer.
Online and soon in your mailbox
In addition to the digital offerings, a printed flyer will be distributed to all households in Riedstadt as part of the upcoming municipal cultural program. This flyer lists the most important addresses at a glance.
