Young people get a taste of different career fields at daycare centers, municipal utilities, and the city library
Fourteen students aged ten to fourteen gained exciting insights into the work of the Groß-Gerau city administration during the nationwide "Girls'Day and Boys'Day" event. The participants were able to gather professional experience in various departments, including daycare centers, the municipal utilities, and the city library.
A key goal of the day of action is to break down gender stereotypes in career choices. "Girls should explore professions that are traditionally considered male, while boys should gain insights into more female-dominated fields," explains Kassandra Waldhoff, deputy women's equality officer, who organized the day of action for the city.
In closing, Waldhoff presented certificates of participation at the town hall, accompanied by City Councillor Ilse Scheuner, who brought small gifts on behalf of Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau. She took the opportunity to highlight the wide range of training opportunities offered by the Groß-Gerau city administration.
