Young people sniff in professional fields at daycare centers, municipal utilities and city library
Fourteen students between the ages of ten and fourteen received exciting insights into the work of the city administration of Groß-Gerau on the nationwide "Girls'Day and Boys'Day" campaign day. The participants were able to gain professional experience in various areas such as daycare centers, municipal utilities and city library.
A central goal of the campaign day is to open gender -specific role models in the choice of career. "Girls are supposed to explore professions that are traditionally considered a male, but young people get insights into rather female occupational fields," explains Kassandra Waldhoff, deputy women's equality officer, who organized the day of action with the city.
At the end, Waldhoff presented participation certificates in the town house, accompanied by city councilor Ilse Scheuner, who brought small gifts with the representation of Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau. She took the opportunity to draw attention to the broad training offer at the Groß-Gerau city administration.
