Galerie Netuschil is showing paintings and sculptures until March 21st
The Netuschil Gallery has been hosting the double exhibition "Giving Form to Lightness" since February 8th. It presents works by the painter Gerd Winter and the sculptor Matthias Will. The exhibition runs until March 21, 2026.
At the opening, Mayor Hanno Benz and gallery owner Claus K. Netuschil gave speeches. Both praised the significance of the two artists for the Darmstadt art scene and contemporary art in general. Benz emphasized the role of visual art in fostering social cohesion and hope.
The exhibition is conceived as a tribute to the roughly 50-year friendship between Gerd Winter and Matthias Will. While Winter seeks a form of lightness in his paintings, Will works with space, material, and density in his sculptures. The dialogue between painting and sculpture shapes the entire presentation.
