The city of Darmstadt and Bedroomdisco eV ensure early planning for the indie festival at Steinbrücker Teich
The city of Darmstadt and the association Bedroomdisco eV reached an agreement on Thursday (28th) at the New Town Hall to extend the contract for the Golden Leaves Festival 2026. This secures the use of the grounds at Steinbrücker Teich for next year as well. As a token of their successful collaboration, the festival organizers presented Mayor Hanno Benz with the first Golden Leaves ticket for 2026.
“With this important agreement, we are creating planning certainty for the festival at an early stage and giving a stable foundation to a cultural flagship event that is known far beyond the borders of Darmstadt,” said Benz. He expressed his gratitude to the participating administrative bodies that made the renewed agreement possible.
The festival organizers were also delighted: “The contract extension gives us the support we need to bring exciting artists to Darmstadt again in 2026,” explained Bedroomdisco board members Steffen Grimmel, Dominik Schmidt and Eva Marggraf .
A festival as a love letter to music
Since its founding in 2012, the Golden Leaves Festival has been considered a niche, boutique festival within the indie scene. Under the motto "Spread Love For Great Music," it brings hand-picked newcomers and established acts to Darmstadt. It is organized on a voluntary basis by Live at Bedroomdisco eV, an organization that has been shaping the regional cultural landscape for years with innovative off-location concepts.
This year's event will take place at Steinbrücker Teich this coming weekend, August 30th and 31st, 2025. 5,000 visitors are expected.
