Registrations for asparagus cooking courses 2025
Asparagus season is almost here again: As part of the Gerauer Land Asparagus Days, the Groß-Gerau district is offering three asparagus cooking courses where participants can learn how to prepare regional asparagus in a variety of ways. They will experience the diverse flavors of asparagus and prepare delicious salads, vegetarian dishes, and combinations with meat.
The courses focus on the proper handling of vegetables and various preparation methods, each resulting in a unique dish that is then enjoyed together. The courses take place in the cooking studio of the Groß-Gerau Adult Education Center (Wasserweg 2) and run from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The instructor is Hiltrut Römer.

Saturday, April 26, 2025: Asparagus in a very special way (Course no. 51GG30771)
In this course, we'll prepare classic asparagus dishes together, such as asparagus with hollandaise sauce, cream of asparagus soup, and asparagus risotto, but also try out creative variations. Be inspired by modern interpretations like asparagus pasta, asparagus quiche, and roasted asparagus with various marinades. Dare to try something unusual, such as how asparagus can also be used in sweet dishes.
Tuesday, May 27, 2025: Vegetarian asparagus (Course no. 51GG30773)
Boiled, roasted, baked, or grilled – classically prepared with a little butter or olive oil, asparagus is already a vegetarian delight. All that's missing are a few suitable side dishes and creamy sauces, and this white or green spring vegetable becomes a complete meal.

Thursday, June 12, 2025: Asparagus & Strawberries – A Feast of Flavors (Course No. 51GG30779)
This special cooking class explores delicious combinations of asparagus and strawberries. These two ingredients are not only seasonal but also incredibly versatile and healthy. In this course, you'll learn how to prepare asparagus and strawberries in creative and flavorful ways. You'll try various recipes that highlight the freshness and taste of these two ingredients.
