Registrations for asparagus cooking courses 2025
Soon there will finally be asparagus time again: As part of the asparagus days of rough land, the Groß-Gerau district offers three asparagus cooking courses in which the participants can learn to prepare regional asparagus varied. You will find out the variety of pleasure of the asparagus and prepare fine salads, vegetarian dishes and combinations with meat.
In addition to the correct handling of the vegetables, the focus of the courses is different types of preparation, which each have their own dishes and are eaten together. The courses take place in the cooking studio of the Groß-Gerau district college (Wasserweg 2) and last from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Hiltrut Römer is a course instructor.

Saturday, April 26, 2025: Asparagus very special (Course no. 51GG30771)
In this course, classic asparagus dishes such as asparagus with hollandaise sauce, asparagus cream soup and asparagus risotto are prepared together, but also tried creative variations. Let yourself be inspired by modern interpretations such as asparagus pasta, asparagus quiche and fried asparagus with various marinades. Dare to use the unusual, for example, how asparagus can also be used in sweet dishes.
Tuesday, May 27, 2025: asparagus vegetarian (course no. 51GG30773)
Cooked, fried, from the oven or from the grill - classically prepared, with a little butter or olive oil, asparagus is already a vegetarian pleasure. If only a few suitable side dishes and creamy sauces are missing, and the white or green spring vegetables become a full meal.

Thursday, June 12, 2025: Asparagus & strawberries - a festival of flavors (Course no. 51GG30779)
Delicious combinations of asparagus and strawberries are explored in this special cooking course. These two ingredients are not only seasonal, but also incredibly versatile and healthy. In this course you will learn how to prepare asparagus and strawberries in creative and tasty way. Various recipes are tried out that highlight the freshness and taste of these two ingredients.
