The cemetery administration of the Büchner town of Riedstadt informs
The cemetery administration of the town of Riedstadt, known for its connection to Büchner, will begin clearing graves in its cemeteries starting in calendar week seven of February 2025, whose 25-year resting period has expired. This affects all graves of those buried before 1999.
Lists of the affected individual graves in rows will soon be posted in the display cases at each cemetery. For all other graves (family graves, children's graves, urn graves, and urn niches), an extension of the lease is possible. The cemetery administration therefore requests that bereaved relatives contact Marisa Draeger at the town hall by calling 06158/181-313. The clearing of the graves will be carried out by the municipal works department. For earth graves, only the surface will be cleared; that is, headstones, borders, and foundations will be removed. For urn niches, the plaques will be removed, and the outer urns containing the ash capsules will be emptied. The ash capsules will be buried in the ground at a central location in the cemetery in the presence of a pastor or priest. The outer urns and plaques remain the property of the bereaved and can be collected from the respective cemetery upon request.
