Budget and investment program adopted after intensive consultations
The Griesheim City Council, in its meeting on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 , approved the budget and investment program for 2026. The meeting comprised a total of 22 agenda items , including numerous decisions regarding the annual financial statements.
Since November 2025, the city council had been intensively reviewing the proposed budget in several meetings. In the final meeting, 15 amendments to the budget were put to a vote.
After more than two hours of budget deliberations, the 2026 budget, including the adopted amendments, as well as the business plan for Haus Waldeck, with the votes of the CDU and SPD parliamentary groups .

What happens next?
recalculated based on the motions passed December 17 . Only after its approval can the 2026 budget come into effect through publication.
Until then, the city of Griesheim will operate under a provisional budget .
