As the city of Griesheim announces, this year's Christmas market will take place from December 5th to 7th around Jean-Bernard-Platz "Am Kreuz". Following the opening by Mayor Geza Krebs-Wetzl, a diverse program will be offered over three days. Stalls, clubs, and musical performances will ensure a festive Advent weekend.

The town of Griesheim invites residents and visitors to its Christmas market from December 5th to 7th. The opening ceremony will take place on Friday, December 5th, at 4 p.m. with Mayor Geza Krebs-Wetzl. The stalls will then be open until 9 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, the market can be visited from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Associations and institutions shape the market offerings
This year, numerous Griesheim institutions are represented:
St. Marien Parish, St. Marien Catholic Church (tent camp), Melanchthon Evangelical Parish, Lutheran Evangelical Parish, German Red Cross Griesheim Branch, Griesheim Children's Parents' Initiative, Haus Waldeck Support Association, St. Marien Daycare Support Association, Nungesser Carousel Company, Gerhart Hauptmann School Support Association, Griesheim Local History Museum, Griesheim Volunteer Fire Department, DLRG Griesheim Branch, Gerhart Hauptmann School Graduation Year Group, Schiller School Support Association, Mathilde Daycare Support Association, Friedrich Ebert School Support Association, Albert Schweitzer School, and the Kerweborsch vum Donauschwabenhof.
The selection ranges from mulled wine and children's punch to savory and sweet dishes, as well as handcrafted products.
Musical program on all days
A cultural and musical program will be offered on all three days. Kindergartens, school choirs, and singing groups will present Christmas carols. In addition, there will be performances by orchestras, big bands, and various dance groups.
Saint Nicholas visits the Christmas market
On Sunday, December 7th, St. Nicholas will visit the market between 4 pm and 6 pm and bring small gifts for children.
