The focus is on waste disposal obligations and dog tax – fines are possible for violations
Next week, the Griesheim city police increased checks on dog owners within the city limits. This is due to a rise in complaints from residents about uncollected dog excrement in public spaces.
A key focus of the checks is the requirement to carry suitable containers for dog waste disposal. Anyone traveling without such bags risks a fine the public safety ordinance . Additionally, checks are carried out to ensure that dogs properly registered and taxed . In cases where this has not been done, fines of up to €10,000 be imposed.
The city police appeal to all dog owners to comply with the applicable regulations: "Only if everyone does their part can a clean and safe cityscape be guaranteed."
