Tradition, parade and family program: The preliminary program at a glance
Griesheim. The town will celebrate its 344th annual fair, August 22nd to 26th, 2025. As the town of Griesheim announces, the colorful program, featuring music, a parade, and church services, will once again be organized by the Kerweborsch Zöllerhannes ( , the Kerwemädscher ( group), and numerous clubs and associations.
“We can be proud to celebrate this beautiful tradition together for the 344th time,” said Mayor Geza Krebs-Wetzl . The Kerb (local fair) is an integral part of the town's history – and is kept alive year after year through the commitment of many generations.
Festival grounds at the Hegelsberg Hall with music, rides and beer garden
The main festivities will again take place at the fairgrounds by the Hegelsberghalle – for the fourth year running, organized by general leaseholder Hans Jürgen Felderhoff . Visitors can expect a mix of rides , food stalls , a wine and beer garden , and live music.
Parade with a changed route on Sunday

The large Kerwe parade on Sunday, August 24th , starts at 2:00 PM on Oberndorfer Straße . Due to roadworks on Pfützenstraße, the route has been adjusted again. After turning onto the B26, the parade will proceed via Platz-Bar-le-Duc-Straße to Groß-Gerauer Straße and then continue along its usual route Jean-Bernard-Platz
Preliminary program for the 344th Griesheim fair:
Friday, August 22
- 5:00 PM: Church service with hanging of the fair crown (Luther Church)
- 5:45 p.m.: Raising of the maypole at the Luther Church by the Kerweborsch Zöllerhannes
- Around 7:30 p.m.: Raising of the maypole at the Hegelsberg Hall with Zöllerhannes & former maypole lads
- Approx. 8:15 p.m.: Tapping of the first keg of beer with Mayor Krebs-Wetzl in the festival tent
- Music before and after the tapping of the first keg: Schlager singer Peter Lorenz
Saturday, August 23
- From 3:30 pm: Senior citizens' fair at Haus Waldeck (with a visit from the fair girls & fair boys)
- 6:45 p.m.: Tree raising & fair speech at the Zöllerhannes community center
- 8:00 PM: Dance & Show at the Community Center
- From 7:00 pm: Live music on the fairground with the party band Capones
Sunday, August 24
- 9:30 a.m.: Festive church service (Luther Church)
- 10:30 a.m.: Morning gathering at the Luther Church
- 2:00 PM: Start of the village fair parade
Monday, August 25
- From 10:00 a.m.: Morning drinks in the Griesheim restaurants
- From 11:30 am: Morning drinks in the wine and beer garden (fairground)
Tuesday, August 26
- 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM: Family Day with discounted prices
- Approx. 9:45 p.m.: Fireworks (organized by general leaseholder Felderhoff)
Saturday, August 30: Post-fair celebration
- From 5:00 PM: Party alert from the Griesheim Volunteer Fire Department
- From approximately 7:00 pm: Award ceremony for "Most Beautiful Train Number"
Monday, September 1st
- 8:30 p.m.: Burning of the Kerwebopp (a straw effigy) , starting at the Geleitcafé (a café serving the procession).
