Eight weeks of construction work for new development area – detour recommended
From Monday, September 1, 2025, Lilienthalstraße will be completely closed between Groenhoffstraße and Flughafenstraße for approximately eight weeks. The intersection of Gutermuthstraße and Flughafenstraße will also be impassable during this period. The closure is due to excavation work for the development of the new Griesheimer Anger .
As part of the project, electricity, lighting, sewage and water connections will be installed. Once the work is completed, all lines should be fully installed, thus preventing future full closures.
Accompanying work at the transformer station
Parallel to the civil engineering works, work will take place in the Nehringstraße / Theissstraße area from September 1st to 12th, 2025. A transformer station will be installed and connected there.
Recommendation for the detour
For traffic heading towards Darmstadt, the city of Griesheim recommends avoiding the area entirely.
