Election of the city council, district council and foreigners' advisory board on March 15th
will take place in Griesheim on Sunday, March 15, 2026. The city's election office will provide information on important deadlines and voting options before the election date.
Postal voting is possible until shortly before the election
online until 11:59 p.m. on March 10, 2026. Alternatively, applications can be submitted in person at the town hall until 1 p.m. on Friday, March 13. Voting can also be done directly at the town hall.
In the case of a proven sudden illness, an application for postal voting is even possible election day on March 15th at 3 pm
Completed postal voting documents must be deposited in the mailbox at the town hall no later than 6 p.m. on election day . Ballots received after this time cannot be counted.
Polling stations are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m
On election day itself, the polling stations will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. To reduce potential crowding, the city is also providing a fourth voting booth .
The polling station responsible for your voter is indicated on your voter notification or can be viewed online on the City of Griesheim's website . If you have lost your voter notification, you can still vote provided you present valid identification.
Election night results online
The electoral districts are divided according to a distribution of eligible voters that is as even as possible.
Initial preliminary results from individual polling districts are expected online on election night starting around 6 p.m. The final result is expected to be available during the following week, as election officials will continue counting votes in the days following the election.
