The city invites you to a dialogue about quality of life and mobility on October 20th in the Riedhalle
How do we want to live, shop, and interact in our city in the future? This central question will be the focus of the concluding forum for the street furniture project on Darmstädter Straße , taking place on October 20, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in the Riedhalle (Am Sportfeld 1) . Citizens are invited to discuss the results of the pilot project and the future development of the city center. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.
Street furniture put to the test: 1,400 citizens participated
As part of the "transform-R" , the city of Groß-Gerau tested new street furniture over the past few months to improve the quality of life in the city center . The trial was accompanied by public participation events and traffic surveys , in which more than 1,400 people participated. The results will now be presented and evaluated together with the citizens.
Exchange on future topics for the city center
Following a welcome address by Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau, the results of the participatory formats will be presented. Afterwards, participants are invited to contribute at three themed stations – covering the following areas:
- Quality of stay,
- fair mobility for all and
- Age-appropriate urban design.
Representatives from various city departments , as well as experts from Goethe University Frankfurt and the Dortmund planning firm Planersocietät , who provided academic support for the project, are present. The aim is to gather ideas and perspectives on how the city center of Groß-Gerau can be made vibrant, safe, and sustainable for the future .
