Police are looking for the owner of a stolen mountain bike
An unusual accident occurred in Groß-Gerau on Thursday morning (September 4). Around 7:30 a.m., a 22-year-old cyclist collided with a parked car at the intersection of Mainzer Straße and Frankfurter Straße. The man sustained minor injuries, while the car was undamaged. The bicycle was no longer rideable after the collision.
A breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol level of 3.74 per mille for the cyclist. The man was temporarily arrested and had to undergo a blood test.
Witnesses had previously observed the 22-year-old apparently stealing the green and white "Galano" brand mountain bike from a courtyard on Mainzer Straße. The rightful owner has not yet been identified.
