Heat transition, energy efficiency and practical examples on October 11th at the district office
Under the motto "Actively working towards a sustainable home," the second annual Renovation Day will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Groß-Gerau District Office. The fair, focusing on the energy transition, modern heating technology, photovoltaics, and e-mobility, offers citizens the opportunity to talk to experts from the region and receive valuable tips for their own projects.
The event, funded by the state of Hesse, is being organized by the Climate Protection Department of the district administration . "Energy-efficient renovations not only contribute to climate protection, but also save costs in the long term and increase living comfort," emphasizes First District Councillor Adil Oyan , who will open the information day.
Expert presentations and first-hand advice
In addition to the exhibition stands of painting, heating and solar companies as well as energy consultants, guests can expect a lecture program:
- Markus Lämmer (LandesEnergieAgentur Hessen GmbH) provides information about municipal heat planning and the current development of the heat transition.
- Dr. Berthold Kaufmann (Passive House Institute Darmstadt) presents possibilities for using heat pumps in existing buildings.
- Prof. Dr. Benjamin Krick (Renovation Manager Riedstadt) explains how thermal insulation helps against cold, mold and high energy costs.
- Rudolf Bersch (Consumer Center Hesse eV) shows how photovoltaic electricity can be used in the household for electricity consumption, hot water, heating and e-mobility.
Meeting place for sustainable building and renovation
The accompanying trade fair gives businesses from the region the opportunity to present their products, services, and innovations. At its premiere last year, more than 150 participants took advantage of the opportunity. "This year, too, we have put together an attractive program to ensure that a visit to the district administration office will be a memorable experience," said Oyan.
