Special offers around Christmas – special editions and fundraising appeal
As the Groß-Gerau district reports, food banks and food rescue organizations are once again drawing attention to their special offers and opening hours in December. The joint network "From Food Rescue to Food Distribution" is calling on people to donate surplus food to designated locations and thus support those who cannot adequately provide for themselves.
Background: Supply situation and importance of the services
While many families are planning larger shopping trips for the holidays, there are more people in the Groß-Gerau district who are struggling to make ends meet. The food banks are therefore dependent on donations and the support of the community. At the same time, they are finding it increasingly difficult to obtain enough food donations from supermarkets and businesses.

Donations still urgently needed
The Groß-Gerau district emphasizes the vital importance of food banks and other food distribution centers for people with low or no income. The need is growing, while the amount of available food donations is decreasing. Donations are therefore especially welcome during the Christmas season.
