From 12 to 14 September – music, market and activities for the whole family
Dreieichenhain. From September 12th to 14th, 2025, the historic old town of Dreieichenhain will once again be transformed into a vibrant stage for the Hayn Castle Festival . Under the motto "Historia Fabula – the Wonderful World of the Middle Ages," one of Germany's most important medieval festivals entices visitors with a colorful program full of music, crafts, juggling, and family activities.
For 36 years, the castle festival has delighted visitors with annually changing themes, an elaborately staged medieval market, and over 100 events on several stages. The centerpiece is the "Herrenborn" , which, with over 90 stalls , commemorates the historic fair first documented almost 500 years ago.
Diverse stage program with live music and falconry shows
Three stages offer a diverse cultural program every day. Top-class bands perform on the open-air stage:
- Friday : Spilldeyvel (6.30 pm) and Die Streuner (8.30 pm)
- Saturday : Vermaledeyt (7.30 pm) and Eric Fish , frontman of Subway to Sally , with solo program (8.30 pm)
- Night concerts in the Bergfried : chrismegan & Birka Mali (Friday & Saturday, 11 p.m.)
A highlight for nature and animal lovers is the Horus Falconry , which offers insights into the fine art of hunting with birds of prey on Saturday (3 p.m. & 6 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m. & 4 p.m.) – an impressive experience for the whole family.
Family-friendly & imaginative: A festival for all ages
The Hayner Castle Festival offers numerous activities for children, including a historical fairytale tent , a water playground , a mini Ferris wheel , medieval games and the popular witch's broom flying school (Friday to Sunday).
The evening program is rounded off by spectacular fire shows from “Fire on Drums” (Friday, 10:15 p.m. & Saturday, 10:45 p.m.).
Market, music and interactive activities – in a historic setting
In addition to the concerts and shows , jugglers, magicians, stilt walkers, actors, minstrels, and show fighters create a medieval atmosphere in the streets of Dreieichenhain. Visitors are immersed in a journey through time where they can not only watch but also participate.

Arrival & Tickets
Dreieichenhain is located in the Frankfurt-Darmstadt-Offenbach triangle, with direct access to the A3, A5, and A661 motorways. Visitors are asked to follow the signposted parking areas.

One euro per entry goes towards the preservation of the historic castle complex – a sign of the strong volunteer commitment that makes the castle festival what it is: a cultural highlight with heart.
