Electronic display at the Pützerstraße bus stop is intended to improve passenger information
HEAG mobilo has announced that it will be testing an electronic timetable display at the "Pützerstraße" bus stop in Darmstadt during the Schlossgrabenfest festival. This is due to the bus route diversions during the festival, which runs from May 16th to 25th.
During this period, in addition to lines F and FM, lines H and K will also stop at the stop. HEAG mobilo is using the increased usage of the stop for a practical test as part of the "Passenger Information of the Future" (FIZ) project.
Real-time information on a digital display
A digital display, known as an e-paper, will be installed at the bus stop on the city-bound side. This digital display will show real-time departure times for bus lines, the printed timetable, a map of the surrounding area, fare information, and details about public transport.
The content can be scrolled through directly on the screen. According to HEAG mobilo, the electronic notice board offers several advantages over traditional paper notice boards. Information can be updated more quickly, and the display is easily readable even in direct sunlight. The system also features voice output.
Passengers can give feedback
On May 21, 23, and 24, HEAG mobilo will be surveying passengers on-site about their experiences with the new information system. Additionally, passengers can participate in an online survey via a QR code at the bus stop.
If the test is successful, the transport company plans to examine whether electronic displays will be used at other stops in the future.
Project “Passenger Information of the Future”
With the "Passenger Information of the Future" project, HEAG mobilo is testing new ways of providing passenger information within the city. The aim is to make information at stops and during detours more understandable, accessible, and modern.
According to the company, feedback from passengers, as well as experiences from test runs and discussions with the passenger advisory board, are directly incorporated into further development.
