Mayor Akdeniz: "Health promotion on site is the key to quality of life"
a new pilot project to promote health competence Eberstadt-Süd district on June 1, 2025 . The aim is to improve the quality of life of the people on site and to strengthen individual and community health skills.
Participation and local networks in focus
The project relies on participatory approaches that focus on the needs of the residents. Barriers are to be broken down, resources made visible in the district and information on topics such as prevention, pension and health promotion is conveyed low -threshold.
Mayor and Social Affairs Director Barbara Akdeniz explains:
"The aim of the project is to sustainably improve the quality of life of the residents and enable them to make health -related decisions well informed and self -determined."
Events and information offers planned
The concrete implementation takes place in cooperation with the community work in the Caritas Center Darmstadt-Eberstadt-Süd and other local partners. In the coming months, target group -specific events and information formats developed and offered.
The project management is located in the Office for Social Planning of the Social Department and is taken over by the Healthy City Coordination Center . The project is financed by means of the statutory health insurance companies as part of the GKV alliance for Health ( www.gkv-buendnis.de ).
Duration: one year
"We make an important contribution to the development of a health -promoting overall strategy for Darmstadt," emphasizes Mayor Akdeniz.
