Information and participation opportunities related to health at the district office
The Groß-Gerau district health department invites you to an information event at the district administration office on Thursday, March 19, 2026. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., citizens can learn about the various tasks of the health department and find out about health services under the motto "Diversity for Health".
The event will take place at the district administration office at Wilhelm-Seipp-Straße 4 in Groß-Gerau. Admission is free, and registration is not required.
Insights into the work of the public health department
Many people primarily associate the public health department with specific tasks such as hygiene inspections or school entry examinations. In reality, its range of responsibilities is considerably broader.
“With this day we want to show how diverse our work is – and how many factors influence health,” explains Dr. Angela Carstens, head of the district health office.
The day of action offers insights into various areas of responsibility of the authority and shows the role that prevention, advice and networking play in the healthcare system.
Exercise, mental health and prevention
This year, a special focus will be placed on exercise, mental health, and the prevention of cancer and dementia. In addition to information booths and lectures, interactive activities and a traveling exhibition are also planned.
The event is aimed at people of all ages – from children and young people to adults and senior citizens.
Dr. Angela Carstens emphasizes: “Health is not an individual achievement, but a task for society as a whole. On Public Health Day, we demonstrate how important well-connected structures are for a healthy population.”
Network partners present offers
In addition to the public health department, various partner organizations active in the field of health promotion will also be present. They will provide information about their services and be available for discussions.
