Intermunicipal project offers bonus and health courses
As the town of Riedstadt, known for its association with Büchner, reports, Riedstadt and the municipality of Stockstadt am Rhein have established a joint health management program for the employees of both administrations as part of an inter-municipal cooperation project. The aim is to strengthen preventative healthcare and make preventative services more accessible.
Health care as a strategic task
“Employees are the most important resources for the success of an administration and perform valuable work every day. Therefore, preventive workplace health management is very important,” emphasize Riedstadt's mayor Marcus Kretschmann and Stockstadt's mayor Thomas Raschel.
The process began with a survey of employees: Which services are particularly relevant to their own health? Responses ranged from nutritional counseling and back care courses to company sports programs. Courses that could be chosen freely, an overview of existing on-site services, and the option of a gym membership were especially popular.
Cooperation with clubs and fitness studios
Based on this, collaborations were agreed upon with local clubs and three fitness studios. The partners' offers are compiled in a brochure that is available to all employees.
Employees of both municipalities can claim a bonus of 50 euros per calendar year for health services – for example, for course fees, club offers or services of the cooperating fitness studios.
Health newsletter with tips and advice
In addition, the administration regularly provides information about current opportunities: Once a month, project coordinator Jennifer Muth from Riedstadt's internal administration sends out a health newsletter. This highlights special offers from clubs and associations and provides practical advice on health care, exercise, and prevention.
The two municipalities understand the joint health management as a permanently designed building block to strengthen the employability and well-being of the employees.
