A collaboration between the science city of Darmstadt and the Caritas Center Eberstadt-Süden offers free health courses
With the pilot project "Healthy in Eberstadt," the City of Darmstadt a new collaborative initiative to promote health literacy in the Eberstadt-Süd district. The project, which began on June 1, 2025 , is being implemented in close cooperation with the Caritas Center Eberstadt-Süden and other local stakeholders. The goal is to remove barriers, highlight resources, and provide targeted health information.
The project relies on participatory approaches that focus on the needs and wishes of local residents. Individual and community health literacy will be strengthened in this way. The project has a duration of one year and is being supported by the Healthy City Darmstadt coordination office .
Yoga as an introductory course in October
The project will begin with free health courses , starting with a yoga program in October and November . The course program is open to everyone – regardless of age or fitness level – and aims to help harmonize body and mind.
Dates:
- Yoga for Everyone: Monday, October 13th and 20th, 2025
- Chair yoga: Mondays, October 27, November 3 and November 11, 2025
Time: 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Location: Caritas Center Eberstadt-Süden, In der Kirchtanne 33
Cost: free of charge (registration required)
Number of participants: limited to 15 people
Note: Please bring comfortable clothing and socks.
Health promotion in everyday life
According to the organizers, yoga offers an ideal way to combine relaxation and exercise in everyday life . Gentle exercises promote well-being, are easy to learn, and can be easily integrated into daily routines.
