The city and ENTEGA invite you to an event on “Future-Proof Heating” on August 26th
DARMSTADT – The City of Darmstadt and ENTEGA invite to the next event in the "Future-Proof Heating" August 26, 2025, The meeting point is building L4I02 of the TU Darmstadt on the Lichtwiese campus (Franziska-Braun-Straße 10). Property owners in eastern Darmstadt are invited, especially those from the Composers' Quarter, the Gemstone Quarter, the Woogsviertel East district, and the Lichtwiese campus – interested parties from other districts are also welcome.
The city is currently working on a municipal heat plan , which is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025. The plan will identify which heating solutions – such as district heating, heat pumps, or other climate-friendly systems – are suitable for the various city districts.
Clarity for homeowners
“Many people are asking themselves: What does the heat planning mean for my neighborhood? Will district heating be installed, do heat pumps work in older buildings, and what can I do right now? We receive these questions daily,” explains Climate Protection Officer Michael Kolmer . “The event aims to provide clarity and support homeowners in taking the first steps toward making their houses future-proof.”
In addition to contributions from the city and ENTEGA, the evening offers further support services in cooperation with Effizienz:Klasse GmbH . The keynote speaker is energy expert Carsten Herbert , known as the "Energy Saving Commissioner" on YouTube and a Spiegel bestseller author. He presents complex technical topics in a clear and practical way.
