DARMSTADT – The Science City of Darmstadt and ENTEGA invite "Future-Proof Heat" series August 26, 2025, The meeting point is TU Darmstadt's L4I02 building on Lichtwiese (Franziska-Braun-Straße 10). The city is currently working on a municipal heat plan , which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025. The plan is intended to show which heating solutions—such as district heating, heat pumps, or other climate-friendly systems —make sense in the various districts.
Clarity for homeowners
"Many are asking themselves: What does heat planning mean for my neighborhood? Is district heating coming, will heat pumps also work in older buildings, and what can I do now? We receive these questions daily," explains Climate Protection Director Michael Kolmer . "The event aims to provide clarity and support owners in taking the first steps toward making their homes sustainable."
In addition to contributions from the city and ENTEGA, the evening will offer additional support in cooperation with Effizienz:Klasse GmbH . The keynote speaker will be energy expert Carsten Herbert , known as the "Energy Savings Commissioner" on YouTube and a best-selling author for Spiegel magazine. He will present complex technical topics in a clear and practical manner.
