Americana concert evening under the open sky on June 28th in Darmstadt
On Saturday, June 28th, the courtyard of the Bessungen Boys' School will be transformed into a stage for American roots music. The renowned Darmstadt Americana series invites you to the popular Heiner Hootenanny – an open-air concert evening featuring folk, Cajun, blues, and country. The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. In case of bad weather, the concert will take place in the hall of the cultural center on Ludwigshöhstraße.
Americana curator Thomas Waldherr promises a musical journey through the USA: "We start on the East Coast, travel to Louisiana and finally land in Nashville." Three acts showcase the full spectrum of the Americana genre.
Folk duo, Cajun sounds and country sound from Nashville
The opening act is Brian & Carrie , a young duo with relaxed folk guitar sound and harmonious vocals – brought directly from the US East Coast to southern Hesse.

Yannick Monot from Brittany Helt Oncale, a musician from New Orleans, the audience to the swamps of Louisiana. With traditional instruments, rhythms, and stories, they will bring the vibrant sound of Cajun and Zydeco music to the stage.

To close the show, Danny Myler and her trio will take the microphone. The country singer will bring the authentic Nashville sound to Darmstadt. Her songs blend traditional country with modern influences. Myler has received multiple awards, including the German Rock and Pop Prize and the international Fair Play Country Music Award.
At the end of the evening, all the musicians will stand together on stage and sing along to Americana classics.
