Streets in the city center will be closed to traffic from July 3rd to 8th – the weekly market is relocating
On the occasion of the Darmstadt Heinerfest 2025 , which will be celebrated from July 3rd to 7th , there will again be extensive traffic regulations in the city center. The city announces that the following streets from Thursday (July 3rd), 12 noon , until Tuesday (July 8th), 5:30 a.m .:
- Landgraf-Georg-Straße (between Schlossgraben and Merckstraße)
- Holzstraße (except for access to Würthweg and Schustergasse)
- Castle moat
- Alexanderstraße (from Magdalenenstraße in a westerly direction, exception: access to Schlossgarage, Tiefgarage Darmstadtium and university institutes)
- Merckstraße (from Erbacher Straße in a southerly direction)
- Lindenhofstraße
- Mercksplatz East and West
Traffic measures and changes
To distribute truck traffic, the through-traffic ban on Fiedlerweg will be temporarily lifted . Residents of Fiedlerweg, Spessartring, and Rhönring are asked for their understanding regarding this measure.
- The taxi stand at Ernst-Ludwigs-Platz and in the castle moat will be closed during the event.
- A taxi rank will be set up along the east side of Teichhausstraße .
- Businesses on the festival grounds are accessed via Holzstraße, outside of restricted hours via bollards .
- For the market square area, the exit is via Schlossgraben and Zeughausstraße.
- in Obere Rheinstraße and at Luisenplatz (daily from 6 am to 12 pm, also on Sunday, July 6).
Weekly market is moving
The weekly market will be relocated for the duration of the Heinerfest to the square behind the town church and the open spaces of the pedestrian zone on Kirchstraße . Vendors will access the market via Kirchstraße, heading south.
