Streets in the city center from July 3 to July 8th closed for traffic - weekly market moves around
On the occasion of the Darmstadt Heiner Festival 2025 , which will be celebrated from July 3 to 7 , there are again comprehensive traffic regulations in the inner city area. The city announces that the following streets from Thursday (July 3), 12 p.m. to Tuesday (8th July), 5:30 a.m. , are closed for public transport:
- Landgraf-Georg-Straße (between Schlossgraben and Merckstraße)
- Holzstraße (except access to the Würthweg and to Schustergasse)
- Castle ditch
- Alexanderstraße (from Magdalenenstraße in a west direction, exception: access to the castle garage, underground car park in the intestinal city center and university institutes)
- Merckstraße (from Erbacher Strasse in a south direction)
- Lindenhofstrasse
- Mercksplatz Ost and West
Traffic measures and changes
To distribute truck traffic volume, the ban on passage in Fiedlerweg is temporarily lifted . Residents in Fiedlerweg, Spessartring and Rhönring are asked for understanding for the measure.
- The taxi stand on Ernst-Ludwigs-Platz and in the Schlossgraben are eliminated during the event.
- A needs for taxis is set up along the east side of Teichhausstrasse .
- The is and is on the festival site via the Holzstraße, outside the blocking times by bollards .
- For the marketplace area, the descent via Schlossgraben and Zeughausstraße takes place.
- In Obere Rheinstraße and Luisenplatz, the usual delivery times of the pedestrian zone apply (daily from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m., also on Sunday, July 6th).
Weekly market moves around
The weekly market is moved to the square behind the city church for the duration of the Heiner Festival and the open spaces of the pedestrian zone in Kirchstrasse . The access for market feeders takes place via the Kirchstrasse in the south.
