The satire evening on August 31st marks the conclusion of the "Days of Democracy" organized by AWO Darmstadt
The Arbeiterwohlfahrt Darmstadt invites you to a special evening at the halbNeun-Theater on Sunday, August 31st. Actor, comedian, and director Hans-Joachim Heist will present biting stories from life under the title "I Can't Laugh About That" – excerpts from his new audiobook project as well as satirical classics.
Satire holds a mirror up to society, provokes, educates, and impressively demonstrates the importance of freedom of expression and artistic freedom. That is why the evening was deliberately included in the program of the "Days of Democracy".
Heist – known to many as the choleric news anchor Gernot Hassknecht from the "heute-show" – reads texts by Ephraim Kishon, Kurt Tucholsky, Joachim Ringelnatz, Erich Kästner, Martin Suter, and other authors. The program is complemented by excerpts from Heist's stage play about Heinz Erhardt.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the event starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available exclusively through ztix.de "Grandmothers Against the Right" Darmstadt initiative .
The evening also marks the closing event of this year's "Days of Democracy" organized by AWO Darmstadt. Further information is available online at www.awo-darmstadt.de/tage-der-demokratie .
