Satire evening on 31 August is the conclusion of the “Days of Democracy” of the AWO Darmstadt
The Workers' Welfare Association Darmstadt invites you to a special evening at the halbNeun Theater on Sunday, August 31. Actor, comedian, and director Hans-Joachim Heist will present a performance entitled "I Can't Laugh About That," featuring biting real-life stories from his new audiobook project and satirical classics.
Satire holds a mirror up to society, provokes, enlightens, and impressively demonstrates the importance of freedom of expression and freedom of art. Therefore, the evening was deliberately included in the "Days of Democracy" program.
Heist – known to many as the choleric news anchor Gernot Hassknecht on the "heute SHOW" – reads texts by Ephraim Kishon, Kurt Tucholsky, Joachim Ringelnatz, Erich Kästner, Martin Suter, and other authors. The program is complemented by excerpts from Heist's play about Heinz Erhardt.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the event begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available exclusively through ztix.de Omas gegen Rechts Darmstadt initiative .
The evening also marks the closing event of this year's "Days of Democracy" organized by the AWO Darmstadt. Further information is available online at www.awo-darmstadt.de/tage-der-demokratie .
